No call, No show, No bueno!

So you’ve scheduled a hair appointment. You’re ready for that new seasonal color, haircut, or eyelash application. The day comes and you COMPLETELY forget, or you got called into work and you didn't notify your salon that you weren't going to make it. No big deal right? WRONG!

Let’s have an honest, real conversation about what happens when you no show/no call your appointment. We as stylists have reserved specific time allocations for your services. Most of us have had to decline other services to other clients who have requested that time as well. When you miss that appointment, we end up with an open book, and depending on what service you were planning to have done, it could be a sizable dent in our day.

I know, you’re probably thinking, “Well I'm sure someone else will have been able to get in for that appointment time,” but thats not always the case. Especially since we give our guests a 15 minute grace period before we mark it as a no show. At that point, it’s usually too late to get someone else who needed an appointment in.

As stylists, we are not paid hourly. We are paid commission off of our services. So when you miss your appointment, we are losing a chunk of our paycheck, not to mention the tips that our guests graciously provide us. There is no hourly rate to fall back on if someone doesn't make it. To lose a several hour service without notice is sometimes disastrous to our livelihood. I know that probably sounds a bit dramatic but it’s 100% true.

We know that life happens. Sometimes people forget things, and if you have kids, your brain may be mush at this point (trust me, I feel your pain). Here at Edit Downtown Salon, we do everything we can to assure that we keep you up to date on your appointments. Our system sends texts and emails to remind you of your upcoming service. Please make sure you have provided us this info so that we can do so. We have so many points of contact through our phone, email, and social media platforms that we just request you take a moment of your time to let us know that you can’t make it.

We love you, all of you, and hope that the feeling is mutual! We just wanted to share some insight on what a small oversight on your end can cause. Let’s keep the lines of communication open so that we are here to provide you the absolute BEST care possible, even when you do have to miss an appointment or reschedule!
